Corey Justus was born and raised in Orlando, FL. Corey attended Florida State University where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance. Following undergraduate studies, Corey went on to attend the Florida State University College of Law where he obtained his Juris Doctor degree.

After law school, Corey moved back to Orlando where he began his legal career as a Prosecutor for the State Attorney’s Office in Orange County. While working as an Assistant State Attorney, Corey was able to gain invaluable courtroom experience. He tried many cases to verdict and passionately fought to obtain justice for the citizens of Orange County. Corey then spent several years litigating cases at one of Florida’s largest defense firms, representing insurance companies and corporations in claim disputes.

In 2019, Corey joined a Plaintiff’s firm where he employed his prior experience to represent and advocate for individuals and businesses in disputes with their own insurance companies over denied or underpaid claims. His practice area focused on first party property losses resulting from pipe leaks, windstorms, hurricanes, and more.

At Payne Law, Corey is passionate about representing homeowners who have been wronged by insurance carriers and other large corporations. Corey is proud to represent members of the community that he grew up in. He strives every day to seek justice and accountability from insurers by recovering wrongfully withheld property insurance benefits for his clients. Outside of work, Corey loves to spend time with his wife, Melissa, and his son, Bryson. He also enjoys exercising, FSU athletics, playing basketball, reading and spending time with family and friends.
